Using
Media
The
most effective use of A-V materials will result when the classroom
teacher observes the following phases of standard practice:
Preview
Know what the material contains. (scenes, concepts,
vocabulary, depth of information)
Preparation
Prepare your class planning so material will be properly
correlated and students motivated to be alert to specifics
related to the lesson.
Presentation
Know your equipment so that a smooth presentation is
assured.
Follow-up
Encourage questions, discussion, further reading, special
reports, field trips, etc.
Evaluation
Determine how well the use of the material achieved
its purpose.
A-V
Materials may be employed not only to present information, but
as an introductory medium for a new topic or a summary of
a lesson or unit.
